Geometric cats

Green cat, called by children from Hedgehog group as”Islandek”, invited them for common play with shapes, sizes and colours.

First, children tried an item changing things and people into unusual shapes. It is how we  looked like in this geometric machine…

Then, Hedgehogs used symbolic thinking and coding for creating geometric cats. It was great opportunity to go through shapes and colours topic.

Mindmaping in Enciso (Spain)

We started our mindmap writing the word “cat” in a big white sheet. Our students provided ideas about what they knew and what they wanted to know about cats.  We realized that we had a book about cats, so we decided to look for information in it. They finally wrote the information about cats on the sheet and they put it on the wall.

Features and symbols

Bees have already met three amazing cats – Green cat, Bonifacy and Filemon. What are their main features? Can we show them by symbols?

We collected our cats and a set of symbols to join them with cats.

After interactive activities on Smart Board about symbols and first letters in cats` names, children tried to join features and names to cats mascots.

When we sum up cats features we realized tha we do not know Green Cat name! Does this sweet kitty have his own name of not? Is it girl or a boy? So many questions to discover!
